I'm Maria Pahos-Benson, a Certified Zentangle Teacher from Orange County, CA.

I never considered myself to be creative or artistic because of a negative experience I had in high school.  While I always appreciated art, I didn't "do" art, until a friend persuaded me to take a Zentangle class with her in May of 2014. 

 

Apprehensive at first, I mustered up the courage to attend the class.  During class, I discovered that I enjoyed the process of creating a Zentangle tile.  It wasn't until the end of class when looking at the mosaic of everyone's tiles, that I realized I was creative.  That moment changed everything for me and I recognized that my creativity was waiting to be unleashed.

I attended the Zentangle certification training in April of 2015 and it's been an amazing journey ever since.
